Kokuyo’s Field Notebook (Sokuryo Yacho / 測量野帳) was originally engineered in 1959 for civil engineers and construction surveyors who needed a rigid, pocketable hardback they could write on while standing in mud. Decades later, it has become an indispensable pocket companion for field researchers, urban sketchers, and bullet journalers who value durability over fuss.
Starting October 14, 2026, Kokuyo is teaming up with Kamoi Kakoshi’s cult washi tape label mt for an eight-design limited collaboration, pairing the notebook's utilitarian silhouette with purpose-built masking tape accents designed for personal customization.

The collection plays directly into how stationery fans already use washi tape to catalog, tab, and index their field logs. Instead of static cover prints, several designs feature illustrated construction surveyors "working" on scaffolding, city skylines, and ruled baselines, inviting users to tape, layer, and collage their own structural elements into the scene.
Alongside the collaboration, Kokuyo is rolling out an in-house protective clear vinyl sleeve equipped with an integrated lanyard loop, turning the compact hardback into wearable field kit for outdoor notes or event roaming.
