The latest addition to their celebrated regional ink lineup is Kobe INK Monogatari Special Edition: “Toi Toi Toi! Omajinai Blue” released to as an homage for the Kobe International Flute Competition which is held every 4 years in Kobe. The latest competition was held in 2025 and the upcoming recitals for the winners are scheduled for 2026 and 2027 in Tokyo and Kobe. The city of Kobe is known in Japan as Ongaku no machi Kobe (音楽のまち神戸) or Kobe, the city of music.

Nagasawa's latest line of ink borrows from the affectionate German expression "toi, toi, toi", a theatrical superstition and vocal charm whispered backstage to performers before curtain-up to ward off bad luck and wish them success. Basically, a more charming version of "Break a leg" in English. This Germanic charm is paired with the Japanese word omajinai (good luck charm or talisman), the ink was conceived as a supportive companion for anyone sitting down to write, practice, or study under pressure.

Stage-Ready Blue with a Nod to the Concert Hall

Visually, the ink captures the quiet poise of a concert hall just before the performance begins. It pools into a rich, dusky concert blue with deep indigo shading, reminiscent of evening velvet seats, polished orchestral woodwinds, and sheet music waiting on the stand. The packaging leans into this musical motif, with flute details, musical staff lines, and the glowing lights of Kobe's performance auditoriums really promoting Kobe as the city of music.
