Ancora, the bespoke Tokyo stationery boutique co-founded by office supply giant Plus Corporation and Sailor Pen, is dragging the Halloween party well into November. A little late for trick-or-treating, sure, but fashionably so. Officially releasing on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM JST, the boutique has revealed its latest limited-edition custom Sailor fountain pen: the "Witch's Gift" (魔女の贈り物) Professional Gear Slim.
Advance phone reservations opened on October 30 strictly for in-store pickup at Ancora's Ginza flagship, while online shoppers and overseas collectors will have to race the digital checkout counter the second the clock strikes 11:00 AM on launch day.
The Allure of the Poisoned Apple
The design draws directly on dark European folklore, specifically the mythic poisoned apple offered to Snow White by the disguised witch in the forest. Ancora avoids the Disney cartoonish tropes, translating the story into a grim palette in the translucent resins and custom metalwork.
The body plays with light using alternating materials, framing deep ruby wine-toned transparency against a barrel embedded with dense, fine gold shimmer suspended in crimson resin. Breaking up the deep red profile, both top and bottom finials are cast in a bright, apple-nectar chartreuse, with the crown cap enclosing a golden apple silhouette framed under clear resin.
Rather than leaning on high-polish gold or bright rhodium, Sailor treated the 14-karat gold nib with a dark Black IP (Ion Plating) finish. Engraved on the face is a minimalist linework apple surrounded by starlight sparkles, visually anchored by matching smoked gunmetal hardware across the clip, cap ring, and trim accents.
